چکیده

BackgroundSpontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) is a non-atherosclerotic cause of acute syndrome (ACS) that affects women disproportionately. Previous case series have found patients with SCAD undergoing cardiac catheterisation high rates iatrogenic damage. We formally compared the rate in and without over 11-year period.MethodsWomen were identified by search database 2007–2017 for keywords ‘SCAD’, ‘spontaneous dissection’, dissection’. For each case, medical record angiogram images reviewed to confirm spontaneous dissection. cases recurrent SCAD, duplicates removed so patient was included only once this analysis. control chosen from aged <70 years, an ACS during same 10-year period. One match as closely possible age year catheterisation. Iatrogenic defined new, proximal, flow limiting different segment presenting dissection.ResultsEighty-five (85) identified. Mean not between non-SCAD (51±11 51±10 respectively). The group had lower ST elevation myocardial infarction, rises serum creatine kinase (CK) troponin levels, diabetes smoking, far less placement stents procedure than group. additional relating 4 85 (4.7%) versus 0 (0%), p=0.04 groups, respectively, despite much percutaneous intervention No common factors could be regarding particular equipment or procedural associated dissection.ConclusionThe confirmed significantly higher contemporaneous age-matched SCAD. This observation likely indicates generalised fragility disease, emphasises importance utmost care engagement, injection involving arteries disease. Development non-invasive imaging modality biomarker able diagnose non-invasively would great advance condition, because it avoid need invasive angiography diagnosis. Spontaneous Women Eighty-five

Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection.

Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) is a non-traumatic and non-iatrogenic separation of the coronary artery wall that is now recognised as an important cause of myocardial infarction, especially in younger women. SCAD can be elusive on coronary angiography and clinician familiarity with non-pathognomonic angiographic SCAD variants and the use of intracoronary imaging will improve diag...

Spontaneous coronary artery dissection.

We present a case of a 43-year-old lady who presented with an acute coronary syndrome, but without any cardiac risk factors or previous cardiac symptoms, and who had a spontaneous coronary artery dissection. This was successfully treated with percutaneous coronary intervention. A brief discussion of this clinical entity and literature review is presented.
